Manuscript preparation
After carrying out the corrections and revisions recommended by the referees, the manuscripts accepted for publication in Annals of Magnetic Resonance will be reproduced directly from the files submitted by the authors by electronic mail or diskette. Accordingly, the authors should make an effort to produce manuscripts strictly in accordance to the journal format and with appealing appearance.

Text and Text Editor
All manuscripts should be prepared in A4 page layout using Word 6.0 or superior. For the text, the font Arial 12 should be used. Other font styles and sizes should be used only where indicated in this instruction. All mathematical formulas should be written using Microsoft Equation Editor or an equivalent program.

First Page

The text on the first page should present superior and left margins of 3 cm, and inferior and right margins of 2 cm. The manuscript title, in boldface size 14, single-spaced and with the first letter of all the main words in capital, should be centralized on the top of the first page.

Leave a blank line between the Title and the name of the authors. The name of the authors should be written single-spaced in boldface size 12 centralized. The author's address, single-spaced, centralized and in normal type (not bold), must come in a different paragraph immediately after the author's names. If the authors are from different institutions, the names and addresses should be grouped for institution, with each group separated form the previous by a blank line. An asterisk must mark the name of the author responsible for the article.

Leave a blank line between the author's addresses and names and the keywords. Then, write the word Keywords: (boldface) followed by a maximum of five carefully chosen keywords single-spaced in normal lettering. The keywords should reflect the nature and principal topics of the article.

Leave a blank line after the keywords. Then, write the word Abstract: (italic, boldface), followed, in the same line, by a short informative abstract, single spaced and italic, with a maximum extension of ten lines. Leave a blank line after the abstract.

Leave two blank lines between the Abstract and the beginning of the manuscript.

Text of the Article
The text of the article should be in 1.5 spacing, with the left margin of 3 cm and all other margins of 2 cm. Organize the article including the sections Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments and References. The different sections should be separated with a blank line, with the section title in boldface. There may be sub-sections in every section. In that case, the corresponding subtitles should be written using italic and leaving a blank line between each sub-section.

Tables
The tables should be prepared using single spacing with 6 pts before. The tables should be numbered using Arabic numbers following the order of citation in the text. On the top of the table use the heading "Table n." (boldface) followed by the table title, centralized and in normal text (not bold). Leave a single blank space between the title and the table. The table title should be self sufficient to express its content. It is important to avoid the use of vertical gridlines on the tables. Further information about the table content should be set immediately after the table as a note. In this case, the text should be size 10 (not bold), justified to the left and in single spacing. The authors should strive to prepare appealing tables, each of which must be set close and after its first citation in the text. Every effort should be made to avoid the extension of the tables from one page to the following one.

Figures and Schemes
The figures and schemes should be numbered using Arabic numbers in the order of appearance and citation in the text. The figures and scheme titles should be self sufficient to understand their content and importance, and should be set, centralized at the bottom of the figure or scheme, preceded by the word Figure no. or Scheme no. (boldface). If other programs are used to prepare the figures or schemes, the same should be pasted to the text as fixed figures, that is not as floating figures. The text inside the figures and schemes should be easily readable even after a 20 to 50% reduction (font Arial 10 to 12) It is strongly recommended that the chemical structures be drawn using ChemWind or equivalent.

Conclusions
The conclusions of the article should be short and written clearly, reinforcing the importance and significance of the obtained results.

Acknowledgments
The acknowledgment should be brief, single-spaced in normal text and it should be set one blank line after the conclusion and before the references.

References

The references should be cited as Arabic superscripts in the text, right after the punctuation, and numbered in the order of citation. The list of references should be set one blank line after the Acknowledgment and their format must follow the examples provided for citation of article from a journal, a book without editors and book with editors, respectively:

Letters
The text for the letters, which must not be greater than six pages, should not be divided into items with subtitles. In fact, the text of the letters should describe all the pertinent items, including the experimental background, in a literary manner. For letters, the only subtitles that are needed are Acknowledgment and References. All the other guidelines stated above for articles must be followed.

Manuscript submission

All types of contributions to this journal should be submitted by electronic mail or airmail to the following address:

  • E-mail: Letter of submission and manuscript in Word format (.doc or .rtf) to the editor's email, indicating "manuscript for AMR" as the message subject. The files sent by e-mail must not be greater than 1.4 Mb.

  •
  • Airmail: Letter of submission, one hardcopy of the manuscript and the properly labeled diskette version that matches perfectly the hardcopy to:

    Reviewing process
The Editor will decide on the acceptance or not of the article with the help of at the least two independent referees. The referee's recommendations and comments will be sent to the authors together with the Editor's decision. The authors of accepted manuscripts should send the revised manuscripts by electronic mail in Word format together with a letter indicating the manuscript changes and the implemented corrections. The proofs will be sent to the authors for the final revision by electronic mail in PDF format. The authors must send the corrections on the proof by airmail, as a hand-corrected printed version of the original proof pdf file or, preferably, by electronic mail as a letter indicating in detail the corrections on the proof pdf file.
